Simplified Clinical Trials

Clinical Trials Simplified (CTS) is an initiative created in Quebec two years ago to help Canadian patients facing an incurable disease find clinical trials for their medical condition.

In pursuing its mission, CTS meets a very real need among patients in Quebec and across Canada. CTS focuses on neurological conditions, cancer and rare diseases, but it is possible to register on the CTS website at rqmo.org/clinical-trials-simplified/ for any illness. The team helps patients find a clinical trial.

CTS uses a customized approach—the first of its kind in Canada—to help patients find clinical trials. CTS sends patients information on all ongoing clinical trials they may be eligible for based on key eligibility criteria. The decision to participate in a specific trial is made in consultation with the patient and their treating physician. CTS then refers the patient and puts them in contact with the site where the trial is taking place. If a patient is not eligible for any ongoing trials, CTS conducts a new search every two months and lets them know if a new trial has become available for their condition.

CTS currently serves patients in all regions of Quebec, and health professionals are also using the service to help their patients find clinical trials.
