In January 2016, CHU Sainte-Justine introduced the Délipapilles personalized meal delivery service, which lets patients order à la carte meals from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. This service is available to all patients, even those with complex dietary restrictions. And the service meets the requirements of over 40 different diets!
CHU Sainte-Justine’s Délipapilles meal delivery service lets patients choose which meals and snacks they want, when they want them, based on their appetite and medical condition.
Patients call in their order from the à la carte menu and a freshly cooked meal is delivered to their room within about 45 minutes. Patients, their parents and even the care team can call from the hospital or from home to order meals in advance. Everything has been designed to create a flexible service that meets our clients’ needs.
The Délipapilles meal delivery service puts patients at the heart of our mission by empowering them to choose their own meals. This project significantly increased our client satisfaction rate (97%) while drastically reducing costs related to food waste. It also gave the employees, managers and union representatives involved in this major undertaking an opportunity to proudly innovate.
